English Cottage Kitchen & Cafe

What began as a rough, early-90s builder-grade kitchen has transformed into a warm English-style country retreat. We started by reconfiguring the layout, replacing a peninsula with an island to enhance flow. The new, painted cabinets feature Sherwin Williams At Ease Soldier paint and copper cup pulls, with copper accents continuing in the pendant light and upgraded faucet. An enameled cast iron farm sink complements the countryside vibe, as do the warm butcher block countertops. In the café area, a Zofany mural depicting a fanciful River Thames scene captures attention above the new beadboard wainscoting. Touches of soft pink add a spark, appearing in the faux Roman shade in Schumacher Soundess fabric, ceramic cookie jars, and dried floral centerpiece. The client loves spending extra time in this newly designed space, even working from home at the kitchen table, and now considers it her favorite room in the house.
