We’re always interested in color predictions for the upcoming year, which begin to emerge with the first turning of the leaves. Let’s take a look at a few new reports so far:
SHERWIN WILLIAMS: NOT ONE SELECTION, BUT A GROUP
For the first time ever, Sherwin Williams is forgoing the prediction of a single Color of the Year in favor of a collection of colors they call a Capsule. Sherwin Williams White Snow and Malabar offer a starting point with light neutrals, while the moody dark shades of Clove and Rain Cloud make up the other end of the spectrum. Mid-tones range from Mauve Finery on the cool side to Bosc Pear on the warm side. Note how brown has definitely made a comeback!
BENJAMIN MOORE COLOR OF THE YEAR
Brown continues to be a factor with Benjamin Moore’s selection: Cinnamon Slate. They describe it as a delicate mix of heathered plum and velvety brown that hints at familiarity and nostalgia. Their 2025 Palette of foundational colors is described as thoughtful, provoking a sense of ease and comfort.
