This fun client was on the brink of a major life change—retirement. Knowing he would have more time for leisure pursuits, he set out to create a space that was intentionally his own. The coral print valances were deemed a “must keep,” so they set the color palette for the space. Through our Project Prep questionnaire, we identified an heirloom fiddle that would serve as highlighted wall art. After drenching the room in Sherwin Williams Indigo Batik, we revamped the floor plan by repurposing his office furniture along two side walls and creating a new seating area as a welcoming focal point. A round tufted ottoman in a textured blue plaid brought the deep blue hue to the center of the space, echoing the tones in the throw pillows atop new molasses leather club chairs. A custom gun case was commissioned to hold treasured possessions, while family photos, framed accolades, and new coral specimen prints adorned the walls.
