Clubhouse Living Room
This lovely couple lives on a golf course and enjoys a maximalist, traditional style. We began with a clubhouse or hunting lodge concept, and incorporated her preference for neutral greens and golds. The plaid wallpaper served as a jumping-off point for the inky-painted fireplace and trim. A coffered ceiling was added for rich texture. Gold and brass accents add a touch of light to the saturated color scheme, as does the imported vintage mirror. Artwork was key to this makeover, introducing a touch of whimsy with vintage Vanity Fair chromoliths depicting dapper gentlemen in their finest attire—a nod to the homeowner’s own stylish taste. Animals play a central role in their lives, so pony paintings and a brass boxer sculpture were chosen to reflect this. The rug grounds the space with its design of gold, green, and paprika on a black background. Overall, they are thrilled with the space and glad they had the courage to embrace the bold design we encouraged them to pursue.
