Heat up your fall decor with a stunning fireplace makeover

It’s the focal point of the living room and often the heart of the home. If your fireplace is a little blah, it doesn’t have to stay that way! Let’s take a look at some makeovers that caught my attention lately:

PAINTED BRICK
This is always a contentious debate – to paint brick or not? It may be a good option if the brick color is too heavy or an unappealing color. Here the brick has been painted in a crisp white and a mantle made from reclaimed beams adds rustic charm.

CONTRAST PAINT
Sometimes it’s not what you do to the mantle, but what happens around it that creates drama. Here a carved white mantle contrasts nicely with a coastal blue wall and bookcases.

STONE SLAB
An off-center horizontal firebox adds a modern touch when combined with a quartz slab with impressive movement.

TILE DRAMA
Who wouldn’t love a fireplace to cook by, especially when it’s clad in this impressive Mediterranean mosaic tile?

TRIM AND BEADBOARD
Though the original brick was left untouched, this fireplace got a makeover with crisp white trim and beadboard. The Samsung Frame TV simulates art when not in use.

SATURATED PAINT
A moody room gets its drama from a fireplace, bookcase, walls and ceiling painted in an impactful green. The white chairs add nice contrast.

LOG STORAGE
Organic modern decor is amplified with functional log storage that doubles as art. The painted black brick is a stunning way to change up a bland fireplace.
