Sand and Sky Owners Bedroom
This lovely couple aimed to transform their extra-large space into a cozy retreat. We started by reimagining the floor plan, with the bed as the focal point. We then introduced a calming blue and ivory seating group. Drawing inspiration from the medium blue of the dining room (Sherwin Williams Breezy), we incorporated a light sand wall color to reflect their love for the beach, and a pale blue ceiling. The contrast between matte and shiny, and formal and informal elements was crucial to the design. Elegant picture frame molding added sophisticated detail, balanced by an A.R.T. statement bed finished in casual washed French oak. The matte wood was then counterpointed by shiny nightstands and Caracole dressers featuring silver and mirrored facades. Watercolor paintings of marsh landscapes and a full-length mirror adorned the walls, while custom bedding layered over a white quilt and textural ivory trellis curtains create a soothing place to recharge.
