How to transform your sleep space into a sanctuary

Your bedroom is not just a place to sleep, it’s your personal sanctuary – a reflection of your style and a place to unwind. Let’s look at five tips for creating a comfortable and impressive bedroom that will make your heart sing!

SET THE MOOD WITH COLOR
Explore soothing shades like calming neutrals, soft blues, or gentle greens to create a serene atmosphere. In this room, we leaned into neutrals of black, ivory, and antique brass. With pillows of various sizes, a bed runner or eiderdown, and artwork we created a look that has our client feeling like she’s staying at a boutique hotel every day.

ADD TEXTURE FOR VISUAL INTEREST
Infuse your bedroom with layers of texture to create a sense of escape. A sisal rug, layered bedding, brick wall, and raw wood beams create the look of a coastal retreat in the bedroom below. Mixing textures adds visual interest and invites tactile exploration, making your bedroom a delight for the senses.

MAXIMIZE SPACE WITH SMART STORAGE
Efficient storage solutions are essential for maintaining a clutter-free and serene bedroom environment. Explore multifunctional furniture pieces like storage beds or nightstands with built-in drawers and baskets to maximize space without compromising style. Below, we added lidded baskets to these bedside tables to hide away all the clutter that night time can bring like books, reading glasses, charging cords, etc.

PERSONALIZE WITH CHERISHED COLLECTIONS
Inject your personality into your bedroom design with special heirlooms like handmade linens, mementos, artwork, or travel souvenirs. They can infuse your space with warmth and character. In this room, we used the client’s quilt, made by her mother, and updated it by layering new, colorful bedding. The artwork was also part of her collection and is a cheerful reminder of loved ones.

CREATE A RELAXING AMBIANCE
Transform your bedroom into a serene oasis by paying attention to lighting, scent, and ambiance. Soft, diffused lighting promotes relaxation, while candles or essential oil diffusers can fill the air with soothing scents like lavender or chamomile. In the large bedroom pictured below, there is room for a cozy reading nook by the fireplace to encourage moments of quiet reflection and rejuvenation.
